JoomlaPack is a backup and migration software for Joomla! It creates a full backup of your site in a single archive. The archive contains all the files, a database snapshot that can be restored on any Joomla!-capable server.
This documentation will walk you through installing an already compressed Joomla Pack file in to your new Joomla Wired account.
There are two main stages to this documenation:
Creating a new database
Uploading and extracting the compressed Joomla Pack file.
We will start by creating a new database. Log in to cPanel and click on the MySQL Database icon.
Now delete any database that you do not need and any mysql user.
Proceed by entering a new database name within the New Database section and click on 'Create Database'.
Now we need to add a new user. So fill in the username, password and password (again) fields. Then click on 'Create User'
We now need to tell the MySQL database to allow the new user access to the new database. To do this select the user and database within the 'Add User to Database' section and click on 'Add'.
You will be presented with the folloing screen.
Simply select 'All Privileges' and click on 'Make Changes'.
You might have noticed that when you have created the new user and database name cPanel has added your cPanel account name and an underscore( '_' ) infront of the names. Making your username something like 'msmeed_juser' and the database name something like 'msmeed_joomla'. You will need to note down these details including your password as JoomlaPack will ask for them. It will also ask for the Database host which is found here
In our case the database host is 'mysql.joomlawired.com'. However this may be different depending on the server you are using.
Now that we have the database details go back to the cPanel home page and click on 'File Manager'
A screen will appear, simply click on 'Go'
Then click on the 'public_html' folder on the left hand side and then click on 'Upload'
The following screen will appear. Click on 'Choose' and select your JoomlaPack file. In this case the file is called 'site-backup.zip'
Once uploaded click on 'Back to...'. Then select the file you have uploaded, in this case 'stie-backup.zip' and then click on 'Extract'.
Click on 'Extract File(s)' and the click on 'Close'. Now you can navigate to your website through either the temporary domain or through your URL and complete the JoomlaPack installation.
